It was a dark time for Great Britain in the 6th century, with the country divided by civil wars.
With the Saxon invasion prophesied, Merlin, a wizard and prophet of the Druids, kills the ruthless King Uther Pendragon, who had used Excalibur as a means to gain wealth, power, and revenge, and has Arthur take the throne to end the era of chaos.
Arthur, who grew up without knowing that he was a member of the royal family, envisions a day when all precious lives will bloom splendidly again. He considers it a blessing to be alive with his beloved father, Ector, and his older brother, Lancelot, as he strives to endure his trials and tribulations.
Arthur learns the secret behind his birth and fate from Merlin, and after some contemplation, he pulls the holy sword, Excalibur, out of a rock to protect the people close to him and is revered as a king.
Just as Arthur accepts his fate, a brave and intelligent woman, Guinevere, appears and captures the hearts of both Arthur and Lancelot.
Meanwhile, Arthur’s half-sister Morgana makes a proposal to the army of the Saxon leader Wulfstan, who invaded the monastery she is in when her father, King Uther, who had her confined in the monastery, dies. She heads to Pendragon’s castle under their protection…
